Why donate?

newstable.info is the result of my personal, individual effort. The German news aggregator "nachrichtentisch.de" began in 2012, and I have worked a lot to improve and extend it. At the beginning, my knowledge of html was extremely limited, but with effort - and a little help from my friends - I have managed to acquire the necessary css, php, and javascript skills. Maintaining the feed addresses, keeping the logos up to date, and developing the site are, in fact, very time consuming. Furthermore, the server costs and donations I make for the plug-ins used on the site come out of my own pocket. Thus, I am extremely grateful for donations, either to me directly (button above), or here to "Doctors Without Borders". If you would like to make a direct donation, but don't have a PayPal account, please email me, and I will send you my bank details. If you make a donation to "Doctors Without Borders", I would appreciate notification.

What are the donations for?

Donations made to "Doctors Without Borders" help fund the work of this courageous organization. They certainly deserve your support. Donations to me are used exclusively to help cover the costs of the site. My hope is to extend newstable.info and build dedicated sites for specific topics. I’m very happy to report that the number of users has grown significantly during the past few years. On the one hand, this, of course, is great and motivates me to keep going. The downside, though, is that if the growth rate stays steady, I will have to rent a private server to avoid technical problems due to overload. Doing this, however, would involve considerable additional costs - which are beyond my current financial ability.

Thanks

This site would not be possible in its current form without the assistance of Ulrich Bangert. His ongoing help, especially with the javascript components, is greatly appreciated. I'm only too happy to refer to his website: https://www.ulrichbangert.de. And also, thanks to Joe Greenman for the translations.
